Three NATO reconnaissance aircraft were spotted in the Kaliningrad region.

On May 19, three NATO reconnaissance aircraft were found in the Kaliningrad region.

"A Beechcraft King Air 350ER aircraft circled over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea near the borders of the Kaliningrad Region, taking off from a military base in Estonia," a source in the European Union (EU) air traffic control services told TASS.

He also noted that this aircraft can be adapted for surveillance and aerial photography. According to him, the plane is currently in Lithuanian airspace, while moving close to the Russian state border.

It is noted that an American Bombardier Challenger 650 Artemis II reconnaissance and targeting aircraft took off from the airfield in Constanta in Romania, which was repeatedly spotted in the Kaliningrad region and over the neutral waters of the Black Sea.

The source added that another aircraft that took off from a military base in Estonia, belonging to the Swedish armed forces, is heading to neutral Baltic waters and can be used for reconnaissance.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budris said on May 11 that it was necessary to return to the policy of pressure on Moscow. Later, he called on NATO to demonstrate its readiness for military pressure on the Kaliningrad region. The Lithuanian Foreign Minister also noted that the Baltic states should not perceive Russia as a threat capable of quickly changing the situation in the region.

Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Artyom Bulatov said on May 6 that Russia was proactive in ensuring the security of the Kaliningrad region, demonstrating its readiness to respond to any possible scenario. Bulatov added that all trends and preparations are closely monitored and taken into account in defense planning.
