In Russia, families raising two or more children will be able to make a new annual payment — a portion of the personal income tax paid will be refunded to working parents. Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, said this on May 19.

Support is provided to families whose average per capita income does not exceed 1.5 minimum subsistence level per capita. At the same time, the amount of the payment depends on the region — the local cost of living is taken into account when calculating. According to Balynin, the amount of the payment may exceed 100 thousand rubles.

"Taxpayers who receive this family payment will receive the largest part of the tax paid — 7 out of 13%. I think it's important to note that an annual family payment is provided to each parent: the amount of the payment depends on the amount of income that the parent received," he said in an interview with RT.

Deputy Leonid Slutsky and the LDPR faction have submitted to the State Duma a bill on the introduction of a monthly child care allowance for unemployed parents raising two or more children. The document was published on May 12. According to the initiative, payments are proposed to be provided to unemployed mothers, fathers or guardians until the children reach the age of seven.
