A mobile satellite complex was presented at CIPR

A portable set of equipment for the operational deployment of a private 5G and 4G network in any location was presented at the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia (CIPR) conference, which is being held in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported in the press service of Megafon, which developed the device.

The complex is based on a portable base station and equipment for creating a satellite communication channel, which can be a universal subscriber terminal of the Bureau 1440 aerospace company. It will provide signal transmission from low-orbit satellites to the operator's infrastructure. Operation in the test mode is planned for this year.

The mobile satellite complex presented at CIPR provides Internet access and corporate network, as well as supports trunking, Wi-Fi, private LTE and private 5G mobile data transmission, and video surveillance. Various modifications are provided for different usage scenarios — from the basic version, which can be carried by a person to connect devices within a radius of several kilometers, to the maximum configuration with the possibility of long-term battery life and coverage of up to tens of kilometers, the company said.

"A secure network, the ability to deploy anywhere without being tied to traditional infrastructure, and simultaneous connection of up to 300 users will help the mining industry and the fuel and energy complex to organize employee communication at temporary or remote facilities. Moreover, the solution is also useful for emergency services during search and rescue operations," said Natalia Taldykina, Deputy Commercial Director for Corporate and Government Segment Development at Megafon.
