The State Duma recalled the reduction of utility bills due to the shutdown of hot water

After planned hot water shutdowns, the bill for housing and communal services should be at least a third lower. This was announced on May 19 by Vladimir Koshelev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

"When the hot water is turned off, the receipt fee should be less. If the hot water is turned off for the planned 10-14 days, the payment in the receipt for this service may become 33-47% lower," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Koshelev clarified that during the planned outages for two weeks, the recalculation will already be included in the tariff and calculated automatically. At the same time, in the event of a sudden water outage for more than a day at another time, residents have the right to demand a reduction in fees.

The government will submit a bill to the State Duma if the experiment is successful in 19 regions.

On April 17, State Duma deputy Dmitry Gusev proposed to automatically recalculate the payment for housing and communal services of inadequate quality. It was noted that information about such a change should be reflected in the payment document for the billing period corresponding to the violations.
