The Russian Embassy in the DRC reported no cases of Ebola infection among Russians.
On May 18, the Russian Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) reported that no cases of Ebola infection had been registered among Russians in the country.
"There have been no cases of Ebola infection among Russians in the DRC," RIA Novosti quoted the embassy as saying.
On May 15, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Ebola epidemic in the DRC and Uganda an international emergency. The organization points to significant uncertainty about the actual number of cases and the extent of the spread of the virus.
On May 17, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor noted that there is currently no risk of Ebola spreading in Russia. As part of the federal Sanitary Shield project, enhanced sanitary and quarantine control is in effect at all checkpoints, and an automated Perimeter system is used to assess risks.
