Titov announced a sharp increase in tourist traffic between Russia and China

China entered the top three most sought-after foreign destinations among Russian tourists in early 2026, with tourist traffic to China growing by 62.4%. This was announced on May 18 by the press service of Boris Titov, special representative of the Russian leader for relations with international organizations for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

"At the beginning of 2026, China took the third place among the most popular destinations for Russian tourists, second only to Egypt and Turkey," TASS reports.

The press service clarified that in January-March 2026, Russians made 396 thousand tourist trips to China. This figure was 62.4% higher than in the same period of 2025.

Tourists will need to fill out a digital arrival card.

Consul General of the Russian Federation in Salzburg Dmitry Cherkashin reported on May 17 that among the residents of Austria who are interested in traveling in Russia, many spend up to several months traveling. It is noted that some tourists try to travel through Russia by bike or walk around it. For example, one of the Austrians traveled around Russia for more than six months on a bicycle.
