FPV drone crews of the 238th Artillery Brigade of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army, as part of the Center group of forces, destroyed Bogdan-B and D-30 howitzers, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control center and hexacopters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) formations in the Oktyabrsky area of the special military operation. This was announced on May 19 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is noted that during combat missions, the Prince Vandal Novgorod FPV drone crews, in cooperation with reconnaissance UAV crews, discovered and destroyed camouflaged enemy field artillery guns. In addition, the unit's specialists destroyed a UAV control center, several robotic complexes that delivered food and ammunition, as well as pickups and an ammunition depot.

"The control point of the enemy's UAVs is always an interesting target, first of all, it is the UAVs that inflict damage on our infantry," said squad commander Mikhail Timashov.

He clarified that in order to successfully achieve their goals, Russian soldiers need to be able to adapt, so new tactical solutions are being used in their combat zone, and military personnel also use terrain, weather conditions, and radio horizons.

According to the operator of the FPV drones, Bogdan Sviridov, these UAVs are not affected by electronic warfare (EW), they pass through forest belts better than radio-controlled drones.

The deputy commander of the anti-tank division, Ivan Sokolov, in turn, noted that one of the units of the anti-tank division is actually fully operational using UAVs, the work itself involves fighters and assault crews. The brigade's reconnaissance identifies enemy guns, transmits coordinates to UAV operators who eliminate targets.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the attack aircraft of the Vostok group of forces had cleared the AFU stronghold in the Zaporizhia region.
