The epidemiological situation in the world remains stable, however, an increase in the incidence of summer infections is expected in the near future. This was announced on May 19 by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko.

"The situation is normal. Winter is over, and now summer infections will come to the fore. In August, we will start talking about the flu again," the expert emphasized in an interview with RIA Novosti, commenting on the risks of the spread of hantavirus and Ebola.

Onishchenko also recommended that Russian citizens refrain from traveling to exotic countries during the summer. According to him, you should plan your vacation with caution to avoid stressful situations.

"Let's be careful when planning our vacation, it's a vacation, and not a search for stressful situations for ourselves for our hard-earned money that was postponed for the vacation. Just have a good rest," the academician concluded.
