Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces have cleared the Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold in the Zaporizhia region

Attack aircraft of the Vostok group of forces have cleared a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on May 19 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the ministry, operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have uncovered a stronghold and an active machine-gun emplacement of Ukrainian formations. The coordinates of the identified targets were promptly transferred to the mortar crews to ensure the safe advance of our infantry.

"The drone's spotter-operator informed us that, while conducting reconnaissance, he had discovered an enemy machine-gun firing cell, from which fire damage was conducted. <...> Having identified the enemy and determined his location, we began mortar fire. We fired a mine, corrected for this target and silenced the enemy," said the mortar commander with the call sign Beard.

In addition, an attack aircraft with the call sign Chunya noted that soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation entered from the rear and controlled the main entrance. They used grenades, and also set up a smoke screen, after which they began to clear the positions. He specified that the fighters moved in twos, inspecting every room and shelter.

On May 18, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the calculation of the UAV of the Vostok group of forces had identified and destroyed the AFU defense center in the area of the Komsomolskoye (Gulyai-Pole) settlement in the Zaporozhye region.
