Ukraine must fulfill Budapest's 11 conditions regarding the restoration of the rights of Hungarians in Transcarpathia in order to join the European Union (EU). This was announced on May 18 by Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar during a government briefing.

"The Ukrainian government is aware of Hungary's 11—point requirements, which are a prerequisite for the Hungarian side's participation in the opening of the first chapters of the EU accession agreement," the Portfolio portal reports.
