Livestock accounting in Sevastopol has been digitized

Cattle accounting in Sevastopol is being digitized. The veterinary Service has already added almost 900 animals to the database, said Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.

The innovation will automate the main processes. The system stores complete data about animals: type, place of keeping, information about the owner, information about vaccination and diagnostic tests.

Each cow or bull is assigned a barcode or QR code, which can be scanned using a mobile terminal. The information will be transmitted to federal systems for planning anti-epizootic measures.

The digital approach will simplify the work of veterinarians, as the system automatically generates a list of necessary jobs. Previously, specialists had to bypass farms. It took about an hour to collect information about one individual of cattle.

"In the end, the operation of the system helps to control the health of animals — and this directly affects the quality and safety of milk and meat," summed up the head of the region, quoted by IA SevastopolMedia.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russian scientists are developing a new antibiotic for farm animals. The drug will selectively affect mycoplasma infection without disturbing the body's natural microflora.
