- The Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the head of Rosseti discussed the development of the electric grid complex
Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and Andrey Ryumin, head of the ROSSETI Group, discussed the development of the region's electric grid complex. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia (CIPR) conference, which opened on May 18 in Nizhny Novgorod, Rosseti reported.
The parties reviewed a set of measures aimed at ensuring reliable operation of the region's grid complex and developing infrastructure to connect new consumers.
"The progressive modernization program of power facilities, which has been implemented by the ROSSETI Group in the Nizhny Novgorod Region for several years, has significantly reduced accidents and prevented massive technological disruptions during the autumn-winter peaks of electricity consumption," Nikitin said. According to him, today it is important for the region "not only to provide reliable energy supply to residents and existing enterprises, but also to provide technical opportunities for the construction of new housing and the opening of new production facilities."
Ryumin stressed that the Nizhny Novgorod region is one of the leading technological centers of the country. "It is important for us that the grid complex provides reliable power supply to the residents of the region and supports the implementation of new industrial projects. In 2026, we will allocate more than 17 billion rubles for the modernization and development of infrastructure. We will complete the reconstruction of the main substation that feeds the south‑east of Nizhny Novgorod, Bogorodsky and Kstovsky districts. And in Olgino and Novinki, where a lot of housing is currently being built, we plan to introduce new 110 kV facilities," said the head of Rosseti.
Technical connection issues were also discussed at the meeting. By the end of 2025, ROSSETI provided electricity to more than 10.5 thousand facilities, including new medical facilities, schools, and housing. The repair program was also discussed. In 2026, the amount of financing for events will increase by more than 200 million rubles compared to the level of the previous year and will amount to more than 3.2 billion rubles.
