In Poland, Ermak's case was compared to a gangster movie
The case of the former head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Ermak, resembles the plot of a gangster movie. This was announced on May 18 by former Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller.
"The whole story is a bit like a gangster movie. There are luxurious estates near Kiev, millions of dollars, mysterious flows of money, influential people and, of course, the collateral is not too high so that friends do not have to wait for the next tranche of European money," Miller wrote on his page on the social network X.
According to him, Ukraine has been convincing the West for many years about the transparency of its state institutions, but the reality turned out to be completely different.
Yermak was charged with corruption on May 12. Shortly after, a court in Ukraine decided to take him into custody. At the same time, the former head of Zelensky's office clarified that his lawyers would appeal the court's decision as soon as possible. Zelensky's former press secretary, Yulia Mendel, also noted on May 16 that the head of the Kiev regime was in a state of crisis due to Yermak's arrest.
Later, on May 18, the former head of the president's office was released from jail on bail. He spent four nights in the detention center.
