Since the beginning of 2026, 170 people have been affected by fraud in the Pskov region. The total damage amounted to almost 109.4 million rubles.

According to the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the scammers most often managed to convince residents of Pskov that they should transfer funds to a "secure" account. 98 people fell for this trick. In 35 cases, citizens suffered when buying goods online. Another 26 people encountered scammers while looking for additional income opportunities. The Pskov news feed writes about this.

On Sakhalin, a 72-year-old woman gave 12.5 million rubles to fraudsters. The scammers convinced her that she needed to "declare" the funds. Acting on the instructions of a stranger, the victim flew to Moscow and handed over the money to the courier.
