A sharp increase in prices for public transport was reported in Kiev.

Travel by public transport in Kiev will rise in price almost four times: from 8 hryvnia (13 rubles) to 30 hryvnia (50 rubles). The Ukrainian edition of Strana writes about this on May 18.ua" in the Telegram channel with reference to the City State Administration (KSCA).

It is noted that the price increase applies to travel by metro, buses, trolleybuses and trams.

The increase in the cost of public transport in Ukraine is due to economic factors: a sharp jump in fuel prices and high maintenance costs for the fleet, the newspaper writes. So, by mid-May, gasoline in the country had risen in price by an average of 2 hryvnia (3.5 rubles) per liter and now its price ranges from 67 to 82 hryvnia.
