Ushakov named the composition of the Russian delegation during Putin's visit to China
Russian President Vladimir Putin will be accompanied by five Russian deputy prime ministers, eight ministers, representatives of the presidential administration and big business during his visit to China. This was announced by Presidential Adviser Yuri Ushakov at a briefing on May 18.
"As for our delegation, as always, it will be very representative. It will include, by the way, five deputy prime ministers.: [Denis] Manturov, [Tatiana] Golikova, [Alexander] Novak, [Yuri] Trutnev and [Dmitry] Chernyshenko," he said.
In addition, the delegation included Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut, Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, Minister of Construction Irek Fayzullin, and Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov. The presidential administration will be represented by Ushakov, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov and Deputy head of the presidential administration Maxim Oreshkin.
Chairman of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina, heads of several regions of the Russian Federation, heads of major banks and oil and gas companies will also take part in the visit. Representatives of news agencies and universities are expected.
"Our leader will arrive in Beijing tomorrow evening, May 19th. A welcoming ceremony will be organized at the airport of the Chinese side. He will be personally welcomed by member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi. And on the morning of May 20 at 11:00 Beijing time (06:00 Moscow time. — Ed.) the visit will begin, the ceremony of welcoming our president by the Chinese leader at Beijing's central Tiananmen Square," Ushakov said.
Then Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are scheduled to hold talks in a narrow format, during which the most important issues will be discussed.
Peskov said on May 18 that Moscow has the most serious expectations from the Russian leader's visit to China. In his opinion, any contact between the two heads of state helps to create a new impetus for the further development and expansion of relations.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on the same day that Beijing intends to continue to promote bilateral relations with Moscow to a higher level. Commenting on Putin's upcoming visit to China, Guo Jiakun stressed that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Russian partnership and strategic relations, as well as the 25th anniversary of the signing of the treaty on good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation.
