The Kremlin noted the coincidence of the foreign policy positions of Russia and China
The foreign policy positions of Russia and China largely coincide. This was stated by Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov at a briefing on May 18.
According to him, the relations between the two countries have the character of a comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation. Moscow and Beijing are increasing their partnership in the United Nations, BRICS and other international organizations, and they act as important trading partners for each other.
"It is worth noting, of course, that the foreign policy positions of our two countries largely coincide and are close. And we share many positions 100%, the approaches are simply identical," he stressed.
At the same time, according to Ushakov, the countries are not friends against anyone, but for the sake of universal peace and prosperity.
"Together with our Chinese friends, we defend the supremacy of international law and the provisions of the UN Charter in their entirety. <...> Our close Russian-Chinese bond is particularly in demand in the current international situation. It has a stabilizing character," the presidential aide said.
Earlier in the day, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said that Beijing intends to continue to promote bilateral relations with Moscow to a higher level. Commenting on Putin's upcoming visit to China, Guo Jiakun stressed that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Russian partnership and strategic relations, as well as the 25th anniversary of the signing of the treaty on good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation.
