- Mishustin announced the complete transition to domestic software in the oil and gas sector
Russia has completely switched to its own software in the oil and gas and petrochemical sectors and by 90% in many other industries. This was announced on May 18 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
"In geological exploration, ecology, electric power industry, oil and gas and petrochemical industries, and subsurface use, all the most important management and production processes are already almost completely provided with domestic software," he said, speaking at the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia conference.
The Head of government also noted that in aviation, engine and shipbuilding, general and railway engineering, light industry, transport, logistics, trade, finance, construction and housing and communal services, the provision rate of Russian software exceeds 90%. He called this a good indicator, but noted that there are still areas where work needs to be done in this direction.
Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev announced on March 27 that the state corporation would invest hundreds of billions of rubles to support projects of technological sovereignty of Russia. According to Likhachev, the whole world is "moving towards the development of world trade." He called the development of the sovereignty of the Russian Federation in foreign trade, logistics, science and the military sphere important.
On the same day, Mikhail Mishustin stated that Russia had managed to accelerate the replacement of foreign IT solutions after the withdrawal of foreign companies from the Russian market. He noted that in the context of sanctions pressure, ensuring technological sovereignty has become a priority. In a short time, processes in key sectors, including public administration, finance, and industry, were rebuilt.
