Vacations and long weekends, which are traditionally considered a time of rest and recovery, become a serious challenge for many parents. According to a study by the developer Level Group, almost every second adult (48%) admits that they get more tired with children than on normal working days. At the same time, 15% of respondents experience severe exhaustion by the end of the holidays, and another 33% say they are noticeably physically and emotionally stressed. The survey data was reviewed by Izvestia on May 20.

At the same time, 43% of respondents say that they manage to find a balance between rest and taking care of their children, and 9% perceive vacations as a full-fledged opportunity for recovery.

According to the study, the main causes of fatigue are changes in the usual rhythm of life and increased household workload. Thus, 33% of parents note an increase in the number of household chores, including cooking and cleaning. Another 29% get tired of having to constantly invent activities for their child, and 25% face a lack of personal space and the inability to retire. Traveling is an additional stress factor, which was reported by 19% of the survey participants. Another 7% of parents cited financial expenses and conflicts between children as the reason for fatigue.

Experts point out that one of the key reasons for parental burnout during the holidays is the lack of a clear day structure.

"The main mistake of many parents is to try to keep their child busy 24/7 and take over the entire organization. Vacations should not turn into endless improvisation. When a child and a parent do not have a clear schedule and plan for the day, the burden on an adult increases dramatically," noted Skysmart, an online school for children and teenagers.

The optimal solution is a well-thought-out alternation of rest and useful employment. It is recommended to use a simple planning model: devote the first half of the day to educational activities, plan a walk or classes in the afternoon, and leave the evening for relaxing family leisure — reading or watching a movie together.

Of particular importance is the ability of parents to set aside time for themselves. Even 30-60 minutes of personal time per day significantly reduce the level of burnout and help preserve emotional resources.

On April 28, the press service of the Ministry of Education of Russia announced that the summer holidays in Russian schools will be held from May 27 to August 31. The academic year for graduates of grades 9 and 11 ends synchronously with the OGE and USE.
