A boy who drowned in the Sverdlovsk region was cramped by cold water.

A boy who died in a Dry Log in the Sverdlovsk region drowned in a river, his legs cramped from the cold water. Such preliminary data was shared by a source of Izvestia on May 18.

According to his information, the teenager is 13 years old, he and a friend jumped into the river from a suspension bridge.

"There was a fisherman on a boat nearby. He saw that two people had jumped, and one had surfaced. I tried to save him, but the water was cold, and the child's legs were cramped," the source said.

He also said that the deceased boy lived with his stepmother, and his father is in prison.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Sverdlovsk Region reported that a child's body had been found in the Pyshma River. The incident occurred on May 17 in the city of Sukhoi Log. Operational and investigative measures are currently being carried out.
