US President Donald Trump held a meeting with members of his national security team to discuss further actions against Iran. This was reported on May 18 by the American television channel CNN.

It is reported that the American president held a meeting at his golf club in Virginia on May 16, a few hours after returning from his trip to China.

A CNN source said Vice President Jay Dee Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff participated in the discussion.

"The clock is ticking for Iran, and they better hurry up, otherwise there will be nothing left of them," Trump wrote the next day on his Truth Social network page.

The day before, Trump called on Iran to hurry to conclude a deal with the United States. He threatened that "there will be nothing left of Iran" if the Islamic Republic decides otherwise.

On May 15, The New York Times (NYT) reported that the United States and Israel were allegedly preparing for a possible resumption of hostilities against Iran. It was clarified that various options for military action against Iranian facilities are being considered in the absence of diplomatic progress.
