Khusnullin spoke about the impact of mortgages on the Russian construction market

A decrease in mortgage lending may have a negative impact on the construction industry, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said on May 18.

According to him, a decrease in mortgage issuance will lead to a drop in activity in the construction market, which largely depends on the funds of equity holders. He stressed the need to ensure the completion of all facilities in order to avoid risks to the industry.

"The decrease in mortgage issuance will have a strong impact on the construction market. <...> Then these are risks for the industry," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
