The Russian Armed Forces destroyed the AFU defense center in the area of the Komsomolskoye settlement

The calculation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Vostok group of forces identified and destroyed the defense node of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of the Komsomolskoye (Gulyai-Pole) settlement in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on May 18 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It is specified that the discovered site was a fortified defense area with a network of underground concrete structures.

The coordinates of the target were transferred to the calculation of the TOS-1A Solntsepek heavy flamethrower system of the 35th Guards Regiment of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection (RCBZ) of the 35th Guards Combined Arms Army. The crew moved into a firing position and struck a target area.

As a result of the fire damage, this node was destroyed, and the underground shelters and ceilings were destroyed, and the enemy forces stationed there were eliminated.

On May 16, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the military of the 38th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 35th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Vostok group of forces broke through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and took full control of the Charivnoye settlement in the Zaporizhia region. It was clarified that the Russian Armed Forces managed to eliminate the enemy's fortified defense center, which covered the approaches to Komsomolskoye and the Omelnik road.
