Guard Second Lieutenant Andrei Isupov, as deputy commander of a motorized rifle company, participated in the storming of positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Monday, May 17.

The assault unit headed for the enemy position, but on the way it came under fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and several Russian servicemen were injured. Isupov quickly provided first aid to the victims and ensured their evacuation, and then personally led one of the assault groups. As a result, the enemy's positions were successfully occupied.

The Ministry of Defense also noted the bravery of Private Alexei Shabalin, who, as an assistant grenade launcher shooter, participated in the storming of enemy positions in the DPR.

As part of the assault group, Shabalin found himself under fire from the enemy, but he quickly got his bearings and identified the firing point of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Under the fire cover of his comrades, Shabalin destroyed the firing point with a grenade launcher. The assault group was able to advance further and engaged in a shooting battle with the enemy. Shabalin personally eliminated five opponents. The Russian soldiers managed to reach the Ukrainian Armed Forces dugout and clear it, gaining a foothold in their new position.

On May 16, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry told how Private Artyom Pavlov destroyed a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) during a combat mission, thereby protecting the Russian assault group.
