The head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, requested a report on the progress of the criminal investigation into the fact of poor-quality medical care in a Moscow private clinic, as a result of which the patient was blinded in one eye. This was announced on May 17 by the press service of the department in the Telegram channel.

"The investigation of the criminal case on this fact is carried out by the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Bashkortostan have sent a request to the supervisory authority for the seizure and transfer of the criminal case materials to the investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia," the agency said in a statement.

The reason for the intervention of the head of the Investigative Committee was the plot of the REN TV channel. The "Emergency Call" program described citizens' complaints about the doctor: after the operations performed by him, patients had complications, but appeals to the authorized bodies did not bring results.
