The United States has begun to assess the risk of using attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) Cuba. This was announced on May 17 by the Axios portal.

"The intelligence data that could become a pretext for US military action shows how much the administration of [US President Donald] Trump views Cuba as a threat due to the development of drone warfare," the publication says.

According to the portal, drones will be used allegedly to strike the American base in Guantanamo, American warships and the city of Key West.

On February 27, Trump announced a possible "friendly takeover" of Cuba. At the same time, he acknowledged that the state was facing serious economic consequences from his actions. The USA Today newspaper said on April 15 that Washington had even begun secret preparations for a possible military operation against this Latin American country.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry said on May 17 that Cuba would defend itself if the country was attacked.
