- Poland did not receive a message from the United States about the cancellation of sending military personnel due to a communication failure.
The Polish authorities did not receive a notification from the United States about the cancellation of sending 4,000 American troops to this country due to an e-mail failure, as a result of the publication in the media, they were taken by surprise. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on May 17, citing sources in Warsaw.
"The message got stuck in General Kukula's secret email. As a result, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the Polish military learned about the change of plans from the country's most important ally from the media," the publication says.
The authors of the material explained that in a message sent to General Kukula at the beginning of the week, it was said that the US Army was suspending the planned rotation of more than 4 thousand armored brigade troops to Poland. Representatives of the American armed forces subsequently confirmed the change in plans for the transfer of troops to Poland, although they did not disclose the reasons for this decision.
The Defense News portal reported on May 13 that the US Armed Forces had canceled the decision to deploy more than 4,000 American troops to Poland. It was noted that during the May 12 congressional hearings on the draft military budget, information about the cancellation of the troop transfer was not announced.
