- Poland refused to provide Germany with a video recording from the inspection of the Andromeda vessel
The Polish authorities refused to hand over to German investigators a video recording of an inspection of the Andromeda vessel, which is associated with sabotage on the Nord Stream gas pipelines. This was announced on May 17 by journalist Ulrich Thiele, who investigated the pipeline explosion.
"This whole incident was recorded on camera. And the Polish authorities subsequently refused to provide the video to German investigators," he said on the Die Weltwoche YouTube channel.
According to him, it was from the Andromeda sailboat, according to investigators, that divers installed explosive devices on pipelines in the Baltic Sea. During the passage, the ship entered a Polish port due to bad weather, where it was unexpectedly searched by border guards. There were people on board with fake EU passports, but after verification, the ship was allowed to continue its journey.
Thiele noted that the Welt am Sonntag newspaper later reported, citing intelligence sources, that the check could have been carried out on a tip-off involving "American friends." At the same time, the Polish side refused to transfer the record of the inspection to Germany.
The journalist also claims that the military explosives used in the bombing are missing in Ukraine, which means that the saboteurs "had to get it somewhere abroad."
According to Thiele, the CIA and the Dutch special services warned Germany in advance about a possible sabotage, but the German authorities did not attach importance to these data.
Maria Zakharova, an official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on April 29 that the current German authorities were delaying the investigation of the attacks on Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2. The diplomat added that Moscow's position on this issue remains unchanged — it intends to seek justice by all available international legal means.
On April 23, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the possibility of resuming gas supplies from Russia to European countries using Nord Stream, said that one of the pipeline's branches was damaged, while the other was in working condition and ready to transport gas. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, noting the US participation in negotiations to restore transit, added on May 13 that Washington wants to buy out the route in order to dictate its own gas prices.
