- Turkey talked about the conditions of the United States and Iran to continue negotiations
The United States and Iran, through intermediaries, exchanged conditions for continuing negotiations to resolve the conflict after a cease-fire brokered by Pakistan. This was reported by the Turkiye Today newspaper on May 17.
"Washington demanded the transfer of 400 kg of highly enriched uranium to the United States and the maintenance of only one Iranian nuclear facility," the article says.
The publication reports that the United States has put forward five conditions: the refusal to pay Iran any compensation, the transfer of 400 kg of highly enriched uranium to the United States, the maintenance of only one nuclear facility in Iran, the refusal to unlock even 25% of frozen Iranian assets, as well as coordinating the cessation of war on all fronts with the completion of negotiations.
In response, Tehran demanded a complete cessation of hostilities, especially in Lebanon, the lifting of anti-Iranian sanctions, the unfreezing of Iranian assets, compensation for war damage and recognition of Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, the newspaper reports.
According to the newspaper, the representative of the Iranian armed forces, Shahram Iranshahr, said that any new US strikes would lead to "more crushing and heavy blows" on the American side.
On the same day, the chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Internal Affairs commission, Mohammad Saleh Jokar, said in an interview with the Mehr news agency that the developed ten-point plan to resolve the conflict with the United States is a "red line" for Iran as the winning side.
The Fars news agency reported on May 12 that Iran had put forward five demands to the United States necessary for the resumption of the negotiation process to resolve the conflict.
The Iranian Mehr news agency reported on May 15 that the US authorities rejected Iran's plan for a possible settlement of the conflict, consisting of 14 points. According to the agency, the Iranian side's proposal was based on a two-stage negotiation process. The first stage involves the end of hostilities. The second stage, if Tehran's conditions are met, implies the start of negotiations on the nuclear issue.
