Zakharova called the massive drone attack on Moscow and the Moscow region a terrorist act.

The Kiev regime committed another mass terrorist attack to the sounds of Eurovision songs and with money from European sponsors. This was announced on May 17 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"To the sound of Eurovision songs, the Kiev regime committed another mass terrorist attack with the money of the EES. The targets of the attack were exclusively peaceful — people, apartment buildings and private houses," she said in an interview with TASS.

Zakharova stressed that she blames the Kiev regime and personally the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, as well as the "collective Western minority" that finances it for these terrorist attacks.

Drones are mainly targeting civilians — almost 85% of the affected civilians were hit by UAVs in April.

Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Defense reported that over the past night, air defense systems intercepted 556 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the regions of the Russian Federation. It is specified that the targets were shot down over the territories of the Belgorod, Kaluga, Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Voronezh, Tula, Smolensk, Pskov, Lipetsk, Tver, Rostov regions, Krasnodar Territory, Moscow region, the Republic of Crimea and the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin also reported on 130 enemy UAVs shot down on approach to the capital. It is specified that emergency services specialists are working at the crash site.
