First of all, ships from countries friendly to Iran will be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. This was announced on May 17 by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic to Belarus Alireza Sanei.

"First of all, we allow passage to tankers that belong to friendly countries. Secondly, all these tankers must follow the rules and laws that our armed forces have established," Sanei said in an interview with TASS.

It is noted that this approach will ensure the safety of ships for all. Sanei cited as an example the passage through the strait this week after an agreement with Iran of an Iraqi tanker bound for Vietnam.
