For the first time, a Gazan has filed a lawsuit with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Hamas for crimes against the Palestinian people. This was reported on May 16 by The Jerusalem Post (JP) newspaper.

"Lawyers for a Palestinian from Gaza have sent an official statement to the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) demanding that 14 Hamas leaders be held accountable for crimes committed against the Palestinian people," the publication said.

It is noted that the applicant to the ICC lost his relatives during the war in the Gaza Strip, which he blames on Hamas. He accuses the leaders of the Palestinian group of using civilians as "human shields", embezzling property, intentionally causing harm, recruiting people, including minors, and other serious crimes.
