Vera Gurevich, a schoolteacher of Russian President Vladimir Putin, shared the details of a conversation with him after his election as head of state.

"The only time he told me, when he became president, was, 'Stop bossing, now I'll be in charge!'" Gurevich told Pavel Zarubin, author of the Vesti news agency.

Gurevich said on the same day that she was proud of her former student and considered him a worthy leader of the country. She also stressed that Putin knows how to find a common language with people and understand their needs. On the same day, she spoke about the president's character and behavior during his school years. She noted that from about the age of 11, Putin stood out among his peers for his activity and intelligence.

The day before, Izvestia published footage of Putin inviting Gurevich to have dinner at his residence. The head of state personally picked her up at the hotel on Arbat. The President personally presented the former teacher with a bouquet of flowers and congratulated her on Victory Day.
