Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that the funds for making bail for the former head of Vladimir Zelensky's office, Andrei Ermak, were collected in full, but they did not have time to transfer them to the account of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (VAKS). He wrote about this on May 16 in his Telegram channel.

"140 million hryvnias were collected from the world for a penny yesterday, but they didn't have time to transfer it to the WAX account," Zheleznyak said.

Earlier, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine charged Ermak with money laundering during the construction of luxury housing near Kiev. WAX ordered him to be taken into custody with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of $3.1 million. Ermak himself stated that he does not have such funds, and his defense intends to appeal.

According to Zheleznyak, Zelensky personally set the task of collecting the necessary amount. The MP also stated that the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine intervened in the process, which warned banks about the need to check the sources of funds, especially when making deposits.

Zheleznyak added that the situation looks especially ironic, since the leadership of the state financial monitoring service, according to him, was previously appointed with the participation of Ermak himself.

Yermak, accused of corruption and detained for 60 days, announced on May 14 that his lawyers would appeal the court's decision as soon as possible. He also noted that he does not have the money to make a deposit of 140 million hryvnias ($ 3.1 million). Speaking about this, the former head of the office of the President of Ukraine added that he has enough connections to find the right amount.

Ermak's lawyer Igor Fomin said on May 15 that Ukrainian banks refused to service money transfers for a pledge of 140 million hryvnias (about $ 3.1 million) for the arrested ex-head of the presidential office. He also described what was happening as a "show" and stated that people who are trying to transfer money are being pressured by publishing their personal data.
