North Korea has revised its nuclear policy after the death of Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei in an American strike during the conflict in the Middle East. This is reported by the NDTV channel.

According to the TV channel, the amendments to the constitution of the DPRK were introduced on March 22 at a meeting of the parliament. The updated version states that in the event of a massacre of Kim Jong-un or his incapacity after an external attack, a nuclear strike should be launched automatically and immediately.

In addition, Pyongyang excluded references to possible unification with South Korea from the constitution. In the new version of the document, the territory of the DPRK is defined as the lands bordering China and Russia in the north and South Korea in the south, as well as adjacent territorial waters and airspace.

At the same time, as noted by NDTV, the document does not specify the status of the disputed maritime border between the two countries in the Yellow Sea, including the area of the Northern Border Line. The wording related to reunification, including "peaceful unification" and "great national unity", is also excluded from the text.

Bloomberg reported on April 29 that Pyongyang's growing arsenal of Hwasong-series intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) will allow it to overcome the US missile defense system. In January, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung said North Korea was capable of producing enough weapons-grade materials to produce 20 nuclear weapons annually.
