At least seven people were injured when a car hit passersby in Italy.

At least seven people were injured as a result of a car hitting passers-by in Modena, Italy. This was reported on May 16 by the newspaper Fatto Quotidiano.

"A man <...> about 30 years old, while driving a car, crashed into passers-by at full speed <...> in Modena, after which he disappeared," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, four of the seven injured are in serious condition. In particular, one woman lost both legs after a car pinned her against a shop window.

Witnesses of the incident reported that the driver was also injured and fled the scene of the incident. However, after a short time, law enforcement officers managed to detain him.

A car crashed into a group of people at a bus stop in Leipzig on May 4. The driver drove into a crowd in the city center on Augustusplatz Square, near the intersection with Grimmaishestrasse, turning into a pedestrian zone. Shortly after, local police noted that the driver had been arrested. As a result of the incident, two people were killed and 20 others were injured. Later it became known that the driver is a German citizen.
