Eight people were killed when a train collided with a bus in Bangkok.

In Bangkok, eight people were killed when a freight train collided with a bus. This was reported by the newspaper Thairath on May 16.

The incident occurred near Makkasan Station, on Asok Din Daeng Street, between the intersections of Rama IX and Asok Phetchaburi. It is noted that all the victims were passengers of the bus.

According to Thai PBS, the total number of victims has reached 32, two of them are in serious condition.

Deputy Minister of Transport Siripong Angkasakulkiat said that the train could not slow down in advance because it was carrying heavy containers. After the collision, the bus caught fire, and several cars and motorcycles were also damaged.

The mayor of the Thai capital, Chatchat Sittiphan, said that the Bangkok authorities had announced a search for relatives of the victims.
