The UAE and Saudi Arabia launched several strikes against Iran in the early days of the war in the Middle East after Tehran's attacks on their territory, which demonstrated the deep involvement of the Gulf countries in the conflict. This was announced on May 15 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

"The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have launched numerous strikes against Iran after their countries were attacked by the Iranian regime in the early days of the war," the article says.

Prior to the conflict, direct attacks by the Gulf States on Iran were considered "unthinkable" due to the prevailing balance of power in the region. However, new data shows how directly Riyadh and Abu Dhabi participated in the fighting, the article notes.

The strikes were a response to Tehran's attacks on energy infrastructure and civilian facilities in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. At the same time, the countries of the region are trying to restore a system of deterrence against Iran, which has gained additional leverage due to control over the Strait of Hormuz and significant stocks of missiles and drones.

The Reuters news agency reported on May 13 that Saudi Arabia had launched numerous, unannounced strikes against Iran in response to attacks carried out in the kingdom during the war in the Middle East. The authors of the material note that the Saudi attacks, which had not been previously reported, mark the first known case of direct military action by the kingdom on Iranian territory.

On April 14, Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, demanded compensation from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan for their participation in the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. He pointed out that these countries violated international law by joining aggressive actions.
