The Ministry of Health gave recommendations for extending life to 100 years.
In order to increase the chances of living to the age of 100, it is necessary to monitor cholesterol and glucose levels, undergo routine checkups, pay attention to physical activity and give up bad habits. Such recommendations were made on May 16 by Olga Tkacheva, chief freelance geriatrician of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"It is necessary to undergo preventive examinations, monitor blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels. These are the indicators that determine early vascular aging," Tkacheva explained in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to the geriatrician, a genetic predisposition to longevity may not always work. But changing your lifestyle in a positive way also helps prolong your life.
On May 13, it became known from the journal Medical Xpress that scientists at University College London (UCL) conducted a study, according to which they found that regular reading of books, listening to music, visiting galleries or museums can slow down the rate of biological aging. The effect of cultural leisure turned out to be comparable with the results of regular physical training.
