The US Embassy in Kiev acknowledged the financing of 13 biolabs in Ukraine
The United States has funded the creation of at least 13 biolabs in Ukraine. This became known on May 16 following an analysis of the documents of the American Embassy in Kiev.
The documents indicate that the United States spent a total of $24.8 million on the construction and equipping of 13 facilities. They were located throughout Ukraine, including in Kiev, Lviv, Odessa, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk. Most of the laboratories were transferred to Ukraine in 2009-2013, RIA Novosti reports.
The United States spent the most on the central reference laboratory of the Anti-plague Institute in Odessa. $3.49 million was allocated for its financing. The Institute of Veterinary Medicine in Kiev also cost the American sponsors $2.11 million.
