With the approach of the exam period, fraudsters have become more active — posing as employees of departments, they offer students taking the exam to register for the exam. This was announced on May 16 by the press service of the Ministry of Education.

"Under the pretext of registering for the final certification, they are trying to get a text message code or prompt them to click on a link, which gives them unauthorized access to personal accounts, electronic diaries, the Gosuslugi portal and banking applications," the Ministry of Education warned, as quoted by TASS.

It is noted that the Ministry of Education never requests confirmation of any data by phone. In order to protect yourself if you are a student, or a child if you are an adult, you should stop suspicious dialogue and contact the school or the official hotline to verify information, and then report the case of fraud to law enforcement agencies.

It is also forbidden to transfer any personal data, as well as passwords, card details and codes from SMS notifications to strangers.
