In Russia, during the truce on the occasion of the anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, four civilians were killed and 47 others were injured. This was announced on May 16 by the Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime, Rodion Miroshnik.

"During the truce in honor of Victory Day celebrations (May 9-11): Four civilians were killed and 47 wounded," he told TASS.

It is noted that two minors are among them.

The escalation in response to Moscow's peace initiative confirmed Ukraine's unwillingness to end the conflict, experts believe.

On May 11, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that 23,802 cases of violations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had been recorded during the truce. It was noted that during the day, Ukrainian militants made 12 attempts to attack the positions of the Russian Armed Forces and carried out 767 attacks on positions from multiple rocket launchers, artillery pieces and mortars, as well as 6905 strikes using drones.
