Russia and Ghana are discussing visa-free travel for officials. John Aggrey, CEO of the Ghana-Russia Trade and Relations Center, told Izvestia on May 16.

"Ghana and Russia are discussing the introduction of a visa-free regime for holders of diplomatic and official passports. At the moment, the agreement has not yet been signed," Aggrey said.

At the same time, the Russian Embassy in Ghana noted that the parties are not discussing a visa-free regime for tourists. It is noted that the Ghanaian authorities have already officially proposed to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation to restore direct flights between the countries.

The agreement on the abolition of visa requirements entered into force between Russia and Saudi Arabia on May 11, in connection with which Russian citizens will be able to make tourist trips to the kingdom without a visa. It clarifies that the visa-free regime is valid on condition that Russians do not work, study or reside in the kingdom.
