- Spartak and CSKA will lose almost half a million rubles for the mat and firecrackers of fans
On May 15, the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union fined Spartak Moscow and CSKA Moscow large sums for profanity from fans, the use of firecrackers and obscene banners. The incident occurred on May 6 in the stands during the final of the Path of the Regions of the Cup of Russia.
Spartak and CSKA Moscow will pay 100,000 rubles each for chanting profanity and offensive expressions. For the use of pyrotechnics, the red-whites were fined 100,000, the army men - 40,000. CSKA will pay another 100,000 rubles for the public display of offensive banners by viewers.
"It's no secret that these two teams have some of the most irrepressible fans. Similar behavior in the stands has been taking place for decades. There have been mass brawls and pyrotechnic shows before. The authorities clearly demonstrated the seriousness of their intentions in combating this when they introduced a fan card," Andrei Chervichenko, the former owner of Spartak, told Izvestia.
According to him, the card was not introduced in the Cup, giving the most active fans the opportunity to cheer the way they like, but without going beyond the bounds of decency. At the same time, in his opinion, the authorities may consider introducing a fan card at all stages of the tournament due to the behavior of some fans.
Currently, a fan card is not required to attend almost all Russian Cup matches. It must be presented only at the games of the Russian championship. In the Cup, the fan card was introduced only for the last match of the tournament, that is, the Superfinal. This year it will be held on May 24 at Luzhniki Stadium, where Spartak will face Krasnodar.
On May 7, the Tushinsky District Court of Moscow imposed administrative punishment on two CSKA fans. They were given 10 days of administrative arrest and banned from attending any sporting events for three years. On May 8, three Spartak fans received 13 days of administrative arrest and the same three-year ban from stadiums for similar violations.
The day before, the Russian Football Union announced that Nikita Medvedev, the Paris NN goalkeeper, was fined 300 thousand rubles following a meeting of the Control and Disciplinary Committee. After the match on May 11, Medvedev expressed dissatisfaction with the posters that fans posted in support of the former head coach of the team Alexei Shpilevsky. The football player used obscene language during communication with fans.
