Fighter Shorokh told about holding a position alone for eight months
A fighter of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the call sign Shorokh said that for eight months he held a position at Rabocino in the Zaporizhia region. He said this in an interview with RT on May 15.
"While I was there, I had time to think, rethink some things... I've changed what I need in my life... behaviour. I had to think about many points," he said.
The fighter said that he took up the position on May 22, and left it only on January 29 of the following year. Food and water were supplied via drones. During the winter months, he sometimes had to sit in a shelter for several days in order not to leave footprints in the snow and not catch the enemy's eye.
Hero of Russia Roman Apalkov told Izvestia on May 9 how, commanding a reconnaissance platoon, he fought with enemy saboteurs in the special operation zone (SVO). According to him, the task was to clear the road and meet the convoy. Realizing that the enemy was coming to intercept, Apalkov decided to shoot. He killed two of them, wounded the third, then gave the command, and all opened fire. In the morning, the column entered the village, landed the infantry and completed the sweep of the enemy.
