Vladimir Golubev, President of the Russian Cynological Federation, spoke about the signs of dental problems in dogs.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Friday, May 15, the expert warned that caring for a dog includes regular brushing of teeth — it must be carried out daily with the help of special tools and a brush. He noted that it is important to teach a pet to the procedure from an early age, otherwise dental problems cannot be avoided, writes RT.
According to him, changes in behavior can indicate diseases of the oral cavity: the dog begins to eat worse or refuses food, a sharp unpleasant odor appears, the enamel darkens due to tartar, and itching of the muzzle and shaking of the head occur. He called blood in a bowl or on toys a separate alarm signal — this may indicate gum inflammation.
The expert stressed that treatment at the veterinarian, including cleaning, is carried out under anesthesia and requires preparation, so it is better to monitor hygiene in advance and not lead to serious problems.
In March, Vladimir Urazhevsky, a dog handler and veterinarian, told NSN that it is possible to treat a pet from ticks with spray, drops or a long-acting pill, and this must be done. The specialist also urged to carefully examine the pet after a walk and monitor its well-being.
Earlier, Golubev noted that for dogs, hunting for sneakers and socks is an element of playing with the owner. According to him, the dog does not consider such behavior theft, but sees objects in things for capture. Sneakers and socks attract dogs with their smell and ease of carrying, reports 360.ru .
