Zakharova called the nationalist minority the main enemy of Ukrainians
The main enemy of Ukrainians is not the Russians or Russia at all, but the nationalist minority that has made their country a puppet in the hands of the West. This was announced on May 15 by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.
"The main enemy of Ukrainians is not Russia and the Russians, but the nationalist minority that seized power in Kiev, which made the country a puppet of the West and plunged it into the abyss of corruption and neo—Nazism," she wrote on her Telegram channel.
Thus, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the violation by the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) of the truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of Victory Day celebrations. She said that the administration of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is trying to overshadow this holiday with a new celebration, Europe Day, celebrated on May 8, but "nothing comes of it."
"People all over Ukraine still remember and honor their true heroes who saved the world from the brown plague. The real threat of repression did not stop them," Zakharova added.
She stressed that Ukrainians in a number of cities, in particular, in Kiev, Kharkov and Odessa, brought many flowers to the memorials to Soviet soldiers.
On May 7, Zakharova pointed out Zelensky's deep indifference to the memory of the anti-Nazi fighters. According to her, the Ukrainian leader does not care about the history of his people, although when he was elected president, he "swore and swore" that Victory Day was a sacred holiday. Now, as the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted, Zelensky is mocking the meaning of Victory Day.
Two days later, on May 9, the day of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, hundreds of Ukrainians from Kiev and Kharkov laid flowers at the memorials to the heroes of the Red Army located in the city. They carried red and white carnations, lilacs, roses and chrysanthemums to the eternal flame. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the Victory Day Parade, pointed out Russia's refusal to divide Victory into its own and someone else's.
