The defendants in the attack on the crew of the "Emergency Call" program of the REN TV channel in Zelenograd have been charged, the investigation intends to petition for their arrest. This was reported to Izvestia by Yulia Ivanova, a representative of the Main Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) in Moscow.

"The staff of the center and the husband of one of them, in order to hinder the legitimate professional activities of journalists, struck the cameraman and the correspondent, they also damaged the equipment. Subsequently, the defendants illegally deprived the journalist of her freedom, limiting her ability to leave the room on her own for 20 minutes," she explained.

A criminal case was also opened into the incident on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists").
