Balabanov's public garden will be created in St. Petersburg in 2027
A public garden directed by Alexei Balabanov will appear in St. Petersburg in 2027. The concept of the future public space is under discussion.
According to the vice-governor of the city, Evgeny Razumishkin, the square will be opened on the 19th line of Vasilyevsky Island, a boulevard that residents propose to associate with the director's name.
The specialists prepared the landscaping project taking into account the suggestions of the residents. The space will be filled with elements referring to Balabanov's work.
According to Razumishkin, who cites 78.ru Vasilyevsky Island is a place with a strong cultural and historical identity. New public spaces should emphasize this atmosphere.
Earlier it was reported that the parks and squares of St. Petersburg were opened for walks earlier than usual — from April 20. They are usually kept closed to dry until the very end of April. The restrictions were lifted ahead of schedule due to the unusually dry and sunny weather.
