Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. After the end of the ceasefire, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continued to conduct a special military operation. From May 12 to May 15, the Russian army, in response to Kiev's terrorist attacks on civilian targets in Russia, carried out massive and two group strikes against enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, fuel and energy, transport and port infrastructure facilities used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), military airfields, assembly, storage and launch sites. drones, ammunition depots, fuel depots, temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries. The strikes were carried out by aeroballistic hypersonic missiles "Dagger" and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The North group of troops has established control over the village of Chaikovka in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the actions of the Russian military, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 990 militants, 79 vehicles, eight field artillery guns and 10 electronic warfare stations.

The southern group of troops liberated the settlement of Nikolaevka in the DPR and defeated the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces. During the week, over 700 militants were lost in the AFU group's area of responsibility.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses and over the past day liberated the village of Charivnoye in the Zaporizhia region. During the week, the manpower and equipment of two mechanized, two assault, three amphibious assault brigades and four assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

In turn, air defense systems shot down 18 guided aerial bombs, four HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, three long-range guided missiles "Neptune" and 2241 aircraft-type drones. The forces of the Black Sea Fleet in the northwestern part of the Black Sea destroyed two unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 146,520 UAVs, 661 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29,310 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,719 multiple rocket launchers, 34,936 field artillery and mortars, 61,649 pieces of special vehicles.
